Issroff Family Foundation (IFF) envisions a world where all children and youth have promising futures in thriving communities. To that end, IFF advocates for social sector boards that are truly diverse – made up of engaged, well-trained stakeholders representing a broad range of demographic groups, perspectives, experiences, and skill sets. Our board training experience is a professional development opportunity intentionally designed to help participants understand the untapped value they can bring to a social sector board and to provide them with the context, frameworks, and hard skills essential to being an effective and engaged board member. The peer-to-peer learning environment facilitates networking with like-valued peers across diverse sectors and geographies. There is no financial charge for the training; however, all participants are expected to engage fully in all sessions and to make a minimum charitable contribution to a nonprofit organization.

This training is geared toward current board members, board chairs, executive directors, and potential board members interested in social sector service. Board work involves time, commitment, and effort. Thus, an extensive discovery questionnaire that serves as an “application” needs to be completed in order to participate in the training. Upon satisfactory completion of the questionnaire, IFF will attempt to include all qualified applicants who are ready and able to fully engage, learn, and share in the program. However, acceptance is on a first come, first served basis until slots are filled.
