Marie Ange Raissa Uwamungu is a Rwandan youth, strongly passionate about the wellbeing of people with a focus on advocating for girls and women in all their diversity’s rights. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Gender and Development Studies at the University of Rwanda. She is a 2023 Mandela Washington Fellow, she attended GenderPro course at George Washington University. She is a Young African Leaders Initiative (RLC), Women in Innovation and Social Impact Incubator by Segal Family Foundation alumna. She took part in a series of co-creation sessions for the development of the first ever Pan-African SRH digital hub through Youth Power Hub where she serves as the Youth Power Hub Rwanda Representative. She is a professional translator, transcriber, and mentor. Thanks to her ambitious spirit and driven by a desire to change people’s lives, she founded a non-governmental organization Impanuro Girls Initiative (IGI) in 2017 and serves as its Executive Director.
